Community Group Award.
Mrs
Lorna Herniman Chairman of St Giles Parish Council was pleased to announce that
St Giles Parish Council has won the Devon Rural Housing Association Most
Effective Community Group Award.
All the judges were unanimous in their praise of the role of the Parish Council
in the successful development of the Affordable Houses at Nursery Close.
The aim of the award is to recognise the commitment and inspiration within a community
of individuals or groups in working towards Affordable Housing for local
people.
Mrs Herniman will receive on behalf of the Parish Council a cheque for £250 to
be spent on a Community Project; this will be presented on the 8th October at
the Community Council of Devon Annual Conference at Exeter Racecourse.
